The majority of independent logistics agent are under a well-established brokerage that gives them back-office support, the technology platforms they need, and the carrier networks. Research about the different brokerages is important to choose the one that has a favorable commission split, has a good support system, and has a business model that's aligned with your business values.


Communication systems, accounting software, and freight management platforms are the right technologies that will form the infrastructure of the business. These will be critical in running the operations efficiently and professionally to the clients.
